MICHAEL DURENLEAU
Team Coach/Routesetter

Michael coaches the two competitive teams at Stone Summit. He has 7 years of climbing experience, competing in youth, collegiate and adult competitions as well as bouldering and sport climbing outside. He is extremely motivated to improve his own climbing and he knows how hard work and perseverance can pay off. He enjoys motivating the kids to push themselves to their limit in order to reach their full potential.

Michael started out climbing at a small local "grassroots" gym in his home town of Mechanicsburg, PA. He remembers his first day at the gym and being instantly hooked. He spent nearly everyday after school at Climbnasium climbing, training and route setting. After high school Michael moved to Chattanooga, TN to study Exercise Science and Nutrition at UTC. He spent most of his time climbing outside and still continues to push his own physical and mental limits. Some of his notable sends include The Big Empty 5.13b/c (Foster Falls), Showboaters 5.13b (Little River Canyon), The Word Up 5.13b (Little River Canyon), The Womb V10 (Rocktown), Golden Harvest V10 (Rocktown) Biggie Shorty V10 (Little Rock City) as well as multiple competition 1st and 2nd place finishes.
